Hallmarked Birmingham 1898 by maker Joseph Sewill, who was a watchmaker in Liverpool. The fob was added at a later date and is is hallmarked Birmingham by maker Matthew Wilcox & Son between 1908-10. The design and chunky nature of the of the fob lends well the the massive heft of the 147 gram chain. The chain is graduated with 10mm links on each end and 14mm links in the middle. The fob has a Bloodstone on one side and Carnelian on the other. Both sides are in excellent condition with no chips to the edges. With 124 years of age, the watch chain remains in overall excellent condition with only light wear to the stamps and a strong dog clip spring.
