Antique 9ct Solid Gold Albert Chain with 9ct Historic Jubilee Race Fob 45.1g
This is a very unique, historical piece, and my favourite in the watch collection. The watch fob is an engraved first place trophy metal for a Jubilee race. It is hallmarked Birmingham 1886. It was certainly a treasured item, for the yellow and rose gold fob has been carefully looked after for 136 years. Based on the little wear there is, I imagine it was worn for very special occasions. The inscription is clear and legible.
The watch chain tells a different story. It is 9ct solid Rose gold. The T bar and central (largest) chain link is stamped Chester 1924 by Birmingham maker William Griffiths & Sons.
Although the chain and fob unfortunately do not match in term of time period, they do certainly compliment each other. A very cool piece of history indeed.
